Route information

20K and 10K TRAIL's

The Dioni ABERSOCH Coast Trail, provide 2 exceptional course routes that will give you the most amazing Trail race experience. Starting on Abersoch Beach, the routes follow the coastal path past Tudwal’s Islands, Porth Ceiriad and for the 20K route past Porth Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth), looping back round to finish on Abersoch Beach again.

Apart from enjoying the most mesmerizing views, both routes offer exciting terrain, with tracks and trails for most of the route, a little bit of road and Abersoch’s famous beach thrown into the mix. By starting and finishing on the beach, we make more of this stunning location for the hub of the race, with plenty of entertainment and activities for your post race experience!

2k Beach Blast

This fun beach event encourages runners to traverse a mixture of hard and soft sand and negotiate several groynes as they go. An enjoyable short distance race, this event boasts a vibrant atmosphere and amazing scenery.

By Car

Abersoch is located at the western edge of North Wales, on the Llyn Peninsula.

The best route from the South or the Midlands is to head toward Birmingham and then take the A458/A470/A487 to the Llyn Peninsula and finally the A497 to Abersoch.

From the North, it is best to enter Wales via Chester and then take the A55/A487 to the Llyn Peninsula and then the A499/A497 until Abersoch.

By Train

The closest railway station is Pwllheli, which is around a 15-minute drive to Abersoch. Trains run from London and take around 7 hours, however, it'll be well worth it as you take in some of Wales' best scenery.

Race Packs

Race packs will be emailed to participants with all the information & final instructions needed for raceday. This includes where to register and collect your race bib and timing tag.

Registration

Race bibs and timing tags can be collected either the night before between 5-9pm, or on race morning from 8am, on the beach at Race Control near to the start line.

If you don't think you'll be able to attend registration you can nominate someone to collect your race pack and bib on your behalf. Nominees will need to provide a letter written and signed by you, giving permission for them to collect your number or a copy of your original online order. Your nominee is also required to bring some identification (for example, their passport or driving license).

Age Requirements

All entrants must be 17 and older to enter the 20K and 10K races. For the Elvins ABERSOCH 2k Beach Blast, entrants must be 5 and older to enter the event. If under 7 they must run with a paying adult.

Cut-Off Time

There is a cut-off time of 3 hours and 30 minutes for the 20K, 2 hours for the 10K, in which all entrants must complete their run in.

Water Stations

There will be water and hydration drink stations at 5km's 10km's and 15km's, and at the finish line.

Prizes

There is £1,500 in prize money, product prizes and trophies to first man & first woman in each race. Prizes are awarded for Open, 40+, 50+ and 60+ categories.
