Route information
Starting from the village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor at the foot of the Hameldown 'massif'. All routes rise high and steep. They afford spectacular views of the Moor and Tors, with some of the best trail running Dartmoor has to offer.
Hameldown Hammer
This half marathon route is challenging, and not for the faint-hearted. With a 98% trail course and a total ascent of 700m, this event is designed to be a test of endurance.
The course will take runners across grassy, rocky, and sometimes muddy tracks. The biggest challenge of the course comes in the form of the double ascent of the Hameldown Ridge.
Hameldown 7EVEN (H8)
This 'Very Long 10k' route, while not as long as the half marathon, still features 350m of ascent and the same tricky double ascent of the Hameldown Ridge. Your legs will definitely be feeling the burn throughout this race.
ULTRA HAMMER
Almost 30 miles of pure Dartmoor grit, mud and tors, with over 1500m of ascent.
A new edition to the Hammer House of Trail races, to celebrate the 10th edition of the event.
