Ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime? The cycling challenge begins at Carlton House Terrace, London, at 08:00. We'll travel a short distance on foot to our starting point in Trafalgar Square, where we'll depart at approximately 08:30.
From there, we'll head out of the capital towards Portsmouth. Embarking on this exhilarating journey, we will thread our way southward, cutting a path through England’s serene countryside. Our route is dotted with picturesque English towns, each offering its unique charm as we skirt the fringes of the majestic South Downs.
Our day culminates in the historic port city of Portsmouth, where we'll gather for an evening dinner, recounting the day’s adventures and camaraderie. As night falls, we board our overnight ferry to Caen, embarking across the channel under a canopy of stars.
Day 2 Friday– Caen to Evreux - 84 miles
Awakening to the refreshing sea breeze of the French coast, we disembark from our ferry, rejuvenated and ready for the day ahead. The journey through France's idyllic countryside unfolds on serene, undulating roads and along smooth cycle paths, reminiscent of the region’s historic railway lines.
As we glide through the enchanting Seine valley, we are enveloped by the quintessential beauty of rural France, a tapestry of pastoral landscapes leading us to the historic town of Evreux.
Here, in this haven of tranquility, we take time to reflect on our day’s journey and rest in the warm embrace of our cozy accommodation, eagerly anticipating the adventures that await.
Day 3 Saturday - Evreux to Paris – 82 miles
The final leg of our journey takes us from Evreux to the heart of Paris. We’ll cycle through beautiful landscapes as we gradually approach the iconic city. The excitement builds as we near our destination, with the grand finale being a triumphant arrival at the Eiffel Tower.
