Book early for the ever popular Market Drayton 10k, which sees hundreds of runners flock to the small town each year. The mostly flat course will take you on a tour of the local streets lined with supporters cheering you around. Reach the finish line to claim your medal.

Route information

Starting at Grove School playing field, the 10k route takes you on a tour of the local town. Most of the course is nice and flat, but with a few challenging hills after 8k to take you back to the school field. Expect fantastic local support from the crowds cheering you on the whole way round.

There will be a water station located at approximately 4.5k.

Road Closures

Roads in the town will be closed between 10:30 and 12:30. Drivers who choose to park within the town will not be permitted to pass through the route until the road is re-opened by marshals.

Parking

There is limited parking at Grove School, accessed off great Hales Street. Note this is within the road closure area. There is also public parking available in the town, all signposted and approx 5-1- minute walk from the event.

Please note - Lidl, Asda, Homebase and Morrisons are not public car parks but private parking for their customers only. They are monitored by the stores who can issue parking fines if misused.

Park & Ride

We urge you to make use of the complimentary and dedicated coach service which includes extensive FREE parking for your vehicles. 5 x 53 seater coaches will continuously relay throughout the day from 08.30am – until the last bus leaves Grove School at 14.30 (with a break between 11 – 11.45 whilst the race is on). Transfer journey time is approx. 10 minutes but please allow at least 20 minutes for loading/unloading.

Car park and pick-up/drop-off is with the kind compliments of Barbers Auction Market which is situated in the industrial estate at Adderley Road, Market Drayton, TF9 3SW, (directly off the roundabout junction of A53 / A529) and from where the stewards will direct you. This car park is not affected by road closures during the race. The event stewards will remain at the PARK & RIDE throughout.

12:30 Prize giving (11-14yr olds Fun Run awards, followed immediately by MD10k awards)

14:30 Last bus leaves for the Park & Ride from Grove main gate

15:00 Park & Ride Closes

Age Requirements

10K runners must be aged 15 or older on the day of the event. The Fun Run is open to anyone up to the age of 14.

Race Packs

At checkout, you can choose whether to collect your race pack on the day of the event or have it posted to you in advance for an extra cost. Complimentary T-Shirts will be collected from the sports hall on the day of the event. Sizes are chosen at checkout and will be subject to availability on the day.

Bag Drop

Runners possessions may be left at the complimentary bag drop which will be situated in Market Drayton Scouts marquee on the main field. Please securely attach the tear off strip from your race number/chip to your bag when dropping it off. For security reasons, bags will only be released upon presentation of the matching race number.

Whilst every effort will be made to reunite left-over items with their owners the organiser reserves the right to dispose of lost property not claimed within 6 weeks (and earlier if perishable) and cannot accept liability for loss or damage.
