Route information

Terrain: Road and Footpaths

Route Type: Loop

The event HQ & start/finish are a short walk from several car parks in the town centre.

Start and finish is located at Open Newtown on Back Lane with distance markers at every kilometre. Begin by travelling along Long Bridge Street, Canal Road and end with the footpaths alongside the scenic river Severn.

The race will take place on fully closed roads and pathways for the safety of the runners and the volunteers. The route has good pavement coverage so spectators are free to cheer on from all areas.

Race results and timings will be posted on the event organisers website soon after the race.

Free Parking from 8am till 1pm at Back Lane Car Park, Newtown, SY16 2NH - 404 Bays Available on a first come basis.

For those living outside the UK and those entering later, race packs will be available for collection on the morning of the race at race

Age Requirements

Participants need to be aged 15 and over to take part in the Newtown 10K.

Cut-off Time

The cut off time for this event is 1 hour and 30 minutes, meaning you must cross the finish line by 10:30.

Safety is key at Adrenaline Sporting Events. You may be asked to withdrawal from the race for your own safety if you fall behind the 1 hour 30 minute pace.

Water stations

Drink Stations will be available at around the 5k mark.

Bag Drop

There is no baggage drop off available at this event. It is encouraged that you to leave your belongings in your car or with friends.

Toilets

Toilets will be open in the public park and extra toilets will be placed in the walkway next to the start.

Race Rules

Athletes with a disability: To ensure that disabled athletes to have a safe and enjoyable race, it is recommended to contact the event organiser for advice.

Earphones: Headphones are permitted. Bone conduction headphones are recommended. In-ear headphones are permitted, but participants are asked to leave one ear-piece out, so you can hear the sounds around you.

Dogs and Buggies: Not permitted.
