Route information

Seven Sisters Coastal Hike
Perfect for regular walkers ready to take on a longer 24km coastal route with plenty of climbs and some of the best views in the UK.
Join us for one of our flagship hikes as we take on one of the UK’s most iconic coastal routes, the Seven Sisters! A full-day adventure along dramatic chalk cliffs, rolling coastal paths and sweeping views across the English Channel.
This is a long but incredibly rewarding day out. The route combines distance with constant ups and downs as we follow the famous cliffline, with fresh sea air, open countryside and some of the best coastal scenery in the UK.
Expect steady climbs, exposed coastal sections and a real sense of achievement as we take on the full stretch together. It’s challenging in places, but completely manageable at a steady group pace.
As always with Essex Adventures, the day isn’t just about the miles , it’s about the shared experience. We’ll take breaks along the way to soak in the views, support each other on the climbs, and finish the day the best way we know how… with food together after we’re back at the cars.
Who is it for?
This 24km route is designed for those with a reasonable level of fitness who are comfortable spending several hours walking.
While the pace is still friendly and social, the distance and varied terrain make this hike more challenging than our social events.
If you regularly enjoy long walks, have completed one of our Social hikes and want to push yourself a little further, or simply enjoy spending a full morning in the countryside, this hike is a great next step.
⚠️ Please note: This event is not recommended for complete beginners.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely! Many people come along on their own and quickly get chatting.
Our hikes are designed to be welcoming and inclusive, and Jack and the team are there to make sure everyone feels comfortable and supported throughout the day.
Everyone was new once. 😊

"Today was the 2nd trek I have completed with Essex adventures and I have to say it did not disappoint. From ease of organisation, clear communication to the meticulous detail of the route plans, Jack and team made this a truly memorable experience. A 24 kilometre hill hike passed in the blink of an eye because it was pure fun and full of laughs. Great day guys, thank you for your conversations and encouragement and can not wait to book another adventure! And just to add, for anyone debating doing to do a trek solo and not part of a wider group, don’t hesitate, the team will make you feel more than welcome!" Ilona, Seven Sisters Hike March -26
