About
This fun and festive running event is perfect for all the family. With a Half Marathon, 10k and Fun Run on offer, there is even something for the little ones to take part in. There will be medals for all finishers and a gift from Santa himself for the younger Fun Run finishers!
This is a fundraising event for CancerCare; an independent charity supporting people affected by bereavement or cancer in North Lancashire and South Cumbria. The charity provides a range of therapy services to people with a cancer diagnosis, their carers and relatives, and those who are bereaved. More than 90% of the charity's work is funded by people like you who donate, fundraise or give a gift in their Will. We can't thank you enough for supporting CancerCare by taking part in this event.

Route information
The race starts on the riverside path behind the Holiday Inn near J 34 of the M6. The route will be rural taking in the Luneside countryside and will be relatively flat, making it suitable for new runners and PB hunters.
This Half Marathon will take you on a scenic run either side of the River Lune. You will run past some of Lancaster's best landmarks, including the City Museum and Maritime Museum. It is a relatively flat route, with some slight climbs around kilometer 11-13.

Parking
There is a 3 hour limit to parking at the 3-1-5 Health Club. Please use the Park and Ride car park at Junction 34 a 10 minute walk from the venue.

Age Restrictions
You must be aged 15 and over to enter the 10k and 17 and older to enter the Half Marathon. All ages may enter the Christmas Fun Run. Please be aware that all children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Race HQ
Race HQ will be held at 3-1-5 Health Club LA1 3PE - follow HQ signs.
Race Number
Race numbers must be collected on the morning of the event from Race HQ.
Water Stations
Drinks stations will be located at approximately 3 mile intervals along the route.
Christmas Fun Run
Parents may run with their children during the Fun Run without purchasing a ticket. They must however buy a ticket for their child to ensure they can visit Santa after the race.
All children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the entire race.
Those not running with a child will have to purchase a ticket.

Can I wear headphones/earphones during the Christmas Cracker 10k & Christmas Fun Run?
It is not recommended. For your own safety, you need to be aware of what is around you and to be able to take instructions from marshals.
Where will there be toilets at the Christmas Cracker 10k & Christmas Fun Run?
Toilets and portaloos are available at the Castle (and at the Royal King's Arms Hotel).
Can my 5 year old daughter take part in the Christmas Fun Run?
Yes, however please note that all children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Do I have to buy a ticket for the Christmas Fun Run to accompany my child if I am also taking part in the 10k race?
Parents can run with small children but are not required to buy a number.
