A brand new addition to the Maverick running calendar is this unmissable dark race set at the iconic Corfe Castle. Whether you are a history buff or not, this site is the perfect setting for a trail run. As always, there will be medals and a fantastic post race buzz with food and drinks.

Elevation Undulating
Terrain Soft woodland paths & heath / some hard packed trails
Starting at the iconic Corfe Castle, you will leave the stone bridge and run down into the beautiful village of Corfe. You will head across Corfe common and towards the quaint village of Church Knowle, before heading up onto the ridge at Knowle Hill with sweeping views across Purbeck.
The Long and Middle routes then continue along the ridge to Stone Hill Down, before meandering through some tight single tracks towards the famous Blue Poole. The trails here are muddy and tight making the Darkness feel exhilarating. These sections of woodland and open heath are home to herds of Sika deer, so don't be alarmed if your head torch shines on lots of eyes watching you from the woodland.
Reach the finish for hot food and drink, fire pits for roasting marshmallows and a real festive vibe.

Age Requirements
Runners of all ages can take part in any distance at the Dark Series events, but those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the run.
Water & Nutrition Stations
Please note there will be no outpost on the short route.

Plastic-Free Event
Maverick Race is making every effort to make this season 100% plastic-free. For this reason, there will be no plastic cups at this event, so runners should bring a reusable cup or bottle with them to refill at the stations located on route.

Transfers
If you want to transfer out of an event, this is ok, but only once. You can only transfer to an event if it has not sold out.
The last day to transfer out of an event is the Monday before event day (5 days before the event), please email Maverick on info@maverick-race.com with the name of the event you would like to move to. the organiser are not able to move you out of an event if you contact them after this day.
Dogs
Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed within the venue. This is not a dog-friendly event.
