Celebrating a century of Kielder Forest, this is your chance to run through history. Join us for a unique trail running event on September 5th, 2026, starting from Kielder Castle. Experience the beauty of Northumberland's ancient woodlands with distances on offer for every level:

5k & 10k: A scenic run on forest trails.

21k: Test yourself on a challenging mix of terrain.

Marathon: A course of fast trails and steady inclines.

50k: A celebration of the best of Kielder Forest's trails, fell running, and stunning viewpoints.

With camping on offer in the heart of theforest allowing you the opportunity to fully immurse yourself over the weekend in what Kielder Forest has to offer.

Parking

There will be free parking available at the venue. It is recommended by the event organiser to car share where possible, to allow enough car park spaces for everyone.

Race Packs

All race packs will be collected on the day from registration. Please arrive with enough time to ensure you can register and warm up before the race start.

Age Requirements

Please note that all under 18's must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Water & Nutrition stations

This will be a plastic-free event, so please be sure to bring your own reusable bottle or cup. Please note there is not water stop on the Middle or Short route

Maverick Race is making every effort to make this season 100% plastic-free. For this reason, there will be no plastic cups at this event, so runners should bring a reusable cup or bottle with them to refill at the stations located on the route.
