As if the Jurassic Coast Challenge was not tough enough, in 2007 someone asked if they could complete all three marathons in one day - up steps The ONER. 84 miles in 24 hours, a challenge to test even the most experienced ultra runners. Starting in Charmouth, runners will be treated to panoramic views, varied terrain and amazing support from the event crew.

The route begins in Charmouth and heads East towards Studland. This self-navigated course promises new challenges around each corner with beautiful coastal views. The Jurassic Coast is known for it's stunning but challenging terrain. There are big hills, exposed cliffs and varied ground surfaces - including footpaths, beaches and tracks. The route also includes the whole circumnavigation of Portland. Part of the route are undertaken in the hours of darkness.
At the event HQ, you will have access to food/drink, massage, shops as well as receiving your briefings.

You are required to meet at the event HQ and be transported to the start. Feel free to leave your car at the event HQ and use the minibuses. After the run, you will be transported back to the event HQ.

Checkpoints
Checkpoints will be present roughly every 10km. Here you will be checked in by staff with your time logged. This way the event organisers can keep track of you, make sure you're safe and assist where necessary. The checkpoints are fully loaded with bars, jelly babies, salty snacks, rolls, water, coke and hot drinks. Hot soup and bread will be available at the finish points of each day.
Participants must maintainer a pace of no less than 5.8km/h to complete the 140km course in 24 hours. Checkpoint cut-off will be supplied by Geo Tracks.
Essential Kit (to be carried on your person or in your rucksack)
- A means of navigation
- Useful numbers, checkpoint timings, and lost procedure
- Whistle
- Compass (make sure your compass is attached to you or your kit)
- Waterproof top
- Long trousers or tights
- Gloves (waterproofed in a plastic freezer bag)
- Hat (waterproofed in a plastic freezer bag)
- A chocolate bar or similar
- Small torch with spare batteries
- Minimum of 400ml spare water
- Issued 'bib number'
- A lightweight piece of warm clothing (waterproofed)
- A fully charged working mobile phone (waterproofed)
- A notepad and pencil with your name and your mobile number written on it (waterproofed)
You must carry all the kit on the kit list. No exceptions.
Accomodation
Weymouth and Portland are well-known holiday towns with plenty of local accommodation. Make sure to secure your place early.
Onsite Catering
The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Acadamy’s restaurant is providing the catering. Food vouchers are purchasable at the event, usable for breakfast and a 2 course evening meal. These meals are adapted for runners competing all day and in need of refueling! Meals start on Thursday evening and finish on Sunday evening. Evening drinks are also available at the Sailing Academy, making for a friendly, social atmosphere.
Medical Assistance
You will be supported by the medal support team throughout the event. Medics will also be on hand to sort any blisters, tape feet up etc.
