Looking for a 10K trail race that’s actually closer to 12K? Welcome to Trail Blazer: Coastal Edition – because who doesn’t love a bit more trail for their money? Set off from Barn at the Bay in Widdrington and enjoy a stunning out-and-back loop along the Northumbrian coastal path, with a mix of gravel trails, sandy dunes, and big sea views.

But this isn’t just a race – it’s a full day out. Stick around after for live music, food vendors, drinks, and even some chilled-out llamas in the field (yes, really). Bring your mates, bring your family – this one’s more than just a run.

As always, Heart and Soul Racing events are for everyone. Whether you plan to race, run, or walk – you’re welcome on the trails. No cut-off times, no DNFs, no pressure. Just come and enjoy the journey. Whatever your goal, Heart and Soul has a race for you.

After the first sell out edition in 2025 Trail Blazer: Coastal Edition is back! An accessible trail running event brought to you by Heart and Soul Racing. Set along one of Northumberland’s most breathtaking stretches of coastline, this race is perfect for anyone looking to challenge themselves on a beautiful, varied course.

Starting from Barn at the Bay, you'll take on an out-and-back loop just over 10km, featuring a stunning mix of:

The Northumbrian Coastal Path
Dirt and gravel trails
Rolling sandy dunes

Whether you're chasing a PB, training for an ultra, or simply want to soak up the coastal vibes, Trail Blazer: Coastal Edition is an unforgettable day out on the trails.

Heart and Soul Racing is not just about running, join us for music and community from from 12:30-14:30 at the barn!

The Route

The route is actually closer to 12km, but its trail so who is counting, just means you get more milesfor your money!

The undulating route is a mix of gravel, sandy dunes, beaches and some tarmac. Finishing and starting at the epic Barn on the Bay wedding venue, overlooking the north sea.
