Ultra X Wales 2026 takes place each July in the Brecon Beacons, with six distances (110km single or multi-stage, 60km, 50km, 25km and 12km) through the stunning Black Mountains near Abergavenny, combining runnable and technical trails with support at regular checkpoints.

Route information
Nestled in the hills of the Brecon Beacons, Ultra X Wales 2026 is an adventure that exlores the Black Mountains to the East of the National Park, starting just north of Abergavenny in July each year.
This new event offer perfect running trails for experienced and first-time trail runners who wish to test themselves across a mix of runnable and technical trail, with beautiful vistas, across one of 5 distances - 110k single stage, 110k multi stage, 60k, 50k, & 25k.
There are checkpoints stationed approximately 10km apart where competitors can access water, snacks, shelter, and if necessary, medical support.
Ultra X Wales events are UTMB index races in the 100K, 50K and 20K categories respectively.

How to get there

Get full directionsThe nearest train stations are Brecon or Abergavenny. Shuttle buses will be arranged on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings for those travelling to and from Abergavenny train station. Timings will be communicated in Spring 2026. There is parking available at the campsite.
