Event day logistics

  • Early Morning: Packet pickup opens at the start/finish area in Leadville. Riders check in, collect bibs, and prepare gear.
  • Pre-Race: Mandatory rider briefing covering course conditions, safety notes, cut-off times, and aid station locations.
  • Start: Official race start in the morning, with riders staged by category and pace.
  • On Course: Multiple fully staffed aid stations provide hydration, nutrition, and mechanical assistance. Drop bags are available at designated locations.
  • Midday–Afternoon: Riders complete the course and roll into the finish area in Leadville, greeted by cheering spectators and announcers.
  • Post-Race: Food and refreshments available at the finish festival. Riders recover, socialize, and celebrate their accomplishment.
  • Awards Ceremony: Podium presentations recognize top overall and age-group finishers later in the afternoon.
