Route information
Escape the city for an unforgettable running adventure at Ragnar Trail Rainier August 21-22, 2026. Your team will conquer the trails at Crystal Mountain, just two hours outside of Seattle. You'll get epic views of Mt. Rainier, while you run through high alpine lakes and wildflower fields the beauty will make every step of the journey worth it. From the breathtaking views to the unique mountain top hand-off, there's not another race quite like it.
Green Loop (2.8-ish miles)
Yellow Loop (5-ish miles)
Red Loop (7.6-ish miles)
Black Loop (18.6-ish miles)
Sprint Teams will run the yellow and red loop.

Start Times
Start times will be assigned Friday, July 24 to all teams with at least 3/4 of runners with 10k road paces saved to their profile.
Volunteer Requirement
All Standard Relay teams have a one (1) volunteer requirement per team. Each standard team must fill one (1) 3-hour volunteer shift or Teams may also opt to pay $120 for Ragnar to recruit a volunteer through a local non-profit. Runners can complete a shift between or before their loops. The person who signs up does not have to be the one who works the shift, as long as someone from the team covers it. Volunteer sign up will be available Friday, July 24.
Age Restrictions
Runners must be at least 12 years old. Participants under 18 need a parent or legal guardian to sign a waiver, and teams with minors must have at least one adult (25+) at the race. That adult may camp with the team for free and can pace minor runners.

How to get there

Get full directionsArrival Process & Check-In
All participants will enter the venue via Crystal Mountain Blvd. Signs will guide you to gear drop and parking areas. Be sure to stop at Lot H and visit the orange Ragnar tent for instructions on where to go.
Parking is within walking distance of the village and camping area. Upon arriving at Lot H you will need to pay the parking fee ($20 if arriving on Thursday night and $10 if arriving on Friday). The parking fee will be credit card only. The fee is a one-time fee. Once you pay, you can come and go as you please! If you are arriving after hours, please proceed directly to the parking area and come to the HQ tent in the morning to pay for parking and receive a parking pass. We will be parking vehicles in the lots as follows: Lot C, Lot D, Lot E, Lot H, Lot F. Please follow volunteer instructions and signage to the open parking lot. There is no participant parking outside of reserved RV spots in Lot B.
Important Reminder: Participant entry is not permitted before 3:00 PM on Thursday unless you have an RV reservation through Crystal Mountain Resort. If you arrive early, please head to Lot H and wait there until the venue officially opens.
When you arrive at the venue, one person from the team will check the team in at HQ.
DEPARTURE PROCESS
After an epic weekend of dirt, sweat, and glory, it’s time to head home like the trail legends you are. For a smooth exit, follow these steps:
Clean Up Your Campsite
Leave no trace (except good memories). Use the trash and recycling bags from check-in and toss waste in the right bins—help us help Mother Nature and our clean-up crew.
Pack Up & Head to Gear Drop
Bring all your gear to the Gear Drop before grabbing your car. If you’re lucky enough to be parked nearby, feel free to skip the drop and go straight to your vehicle.
Load Up at Gear Drop
Once you’ve got your car, swing back to Gear Drop and load up. But don’t roll in early—no parking, no lingering, no camping out in the driver’s seat. Think airport drop-off... but with more mud.

3:00 pm - 10:00 pm: Camping Setup, Gear Drop, and Parking Open
If you need to arrive after 10:00 pm, plan to park in Lot H and touch base with parking staff in the morning to ensure your vehicle is parked correctly and to pay the parking fee. Please refrain from using Gear Drop for safety reasons and to be considerate of campers sleeping.
5:00 pm - 10:00 pm: Ragnar Village Open (Check-In, Gear Store, Vendors)
7:00 pm: Green Loop Shakeout Run

Cupless Event
Single-use containers are not provided at any water stations on the course or for hot chocolate/coffee in the Village area. Bring your reusable hot and cold containers to use throughout the event.
Venue & Campsite Rules
NO DOGS
No dogs on the course, at the campsite, in the Village, or at the event. We love dogs too, but this is a safety issue for participants and for the dogs. Service dogs (not ESA) are allowed, but they must remain on a leash at all times.
NO GENERATORS
No generators are allowed in the campsite, village, or on course.
NO DRONES
Non-official use of drones is prohibited without special approval.
NO CAMPFIRES
Propane cooking stoves are permitted, but no open flame campfires/firepits.
Campsites are not assigned and you can choose your own spot (within a 20'x20' area). Tent stakes larger than standard 6-10" are prohibited.

No, there is plenty of lodging available at the base of Crystal Mountain if camping is not your thing.
